If she could be a song, she’d be a love song hailing from the Californian 60s.

Ruxandra has always been into expressing herself to anyone who would listen. When her sister would shy away from the parental camera, she’d push people aside to be in the center. Over the years, she learned to be subtler about it: she kept the daily performances to an audience consisting of her plush toys and reserved the big ones for family events.

She was only four years old, in Romania, when she declared to her grandmother while watching a soap opera: “I want to be just like them!” Ever since then her life revolved around acting and writing. Her imagination has never stopped running. She lives to create stories and she fights orcs at least once a day.

Towards the end of elementary school, now in Montreal, Canada, Ruxandra started being more serious about acting, getting involved in all things theater at her school, participating in plays all the way into university where she majored in Psychology and minored in Theater at McGill University.

Sometime into her university career, she transitioned more into screen work and playing in various student films and low-budget projects. It wasn’t until almost a year after she graduated however, as she was about to leave to South Korea to teach English, that Ruxandra had an epiphany: she could not leave, she had to fully focus on acting.

As she did, she met some incredible people who would shape her life and her career. Annoyed at the limits put on her creation, Ruxandra, along with her friend/actress Emilie, founded a production company: Productions Makyo. With this company, she could produce other writers’ projects as well as her own and direct any project she wanted. It made her realize how much she loved production and being involved in creating a story from start to finish.

Meanwhile, she got a certificate in Marketing with Honours from Humber College in order to help with the business, and because she’s always wanted to learn more about marketing. She realized marketing was very much so like producing: instead of a film project, she would produce a product or a service, or a person. Marketing is producing, psychology and acting wrapped into one.

To finalize her certificate, she packed her bags and went on a marketing and production internship for a small PR Photography company in Dublin, Ireland. And she fell in love. So much so that by the time she was back in Montreal three months later, she looked for a way to go back. Five months later she did.

Back in Montreal, Ruxandra focused on storytelling.
